Subject: Sponsoring Wife's parents and brother
I´m sponsoring my wife´s parents and brother. My wife´s brother he just turned 21 and studying Mech engineering.
PROBLEM: Before he started studying engineering he repeated 1 course of grade 12th. During that time he took only this course and got admission in engineering college following year. So basically he has 1 year of gap in study. Yesterday I was reading info on cic´s website. They´ve stated that the person must be under the age of 22 and studying full time. I think he has 1 year of gap before he started his engineering. I would really appreciate if anyone can help or suggest in how to proceed?

that will not matter... full time means in last acedamic year the person should have been taking 18 hrs of studies in 1 year.

Thats how full time studies are defined at a university level... well msot universities...

also I think they count the 1 year gap after he is 22 so if he is 21 he is on the safe side as long as he is full time student @ the time of the interview!!

In reference your requestion..what does last acedamic year means? After he complted the grade 12th...in next year he just improved mathematics mark without going to school as a correspondence and next year he got admission in engineering college since then he is full time student about 10 courses per year. Thank you all
