Subject: Sponsorsing a Fiancee
Can I apply as a sponsor for my fiancee if she is residing outside of Canada. The engagement ceremony was held in Canada while she was visiting as a visitor.
Also, how much time does this process take compared to applying for sponsoring spouse.
Thanks.

Apsolutely you can, it should not take longer than 6 months. But your chances are not big unless you get married. g luck

Sponsoring a fiancee (in reply to: Sponsorsing a Fiancee)
The new immigration law (2002) does not allow the sponsorship of a fiancee. The closest thing to it in the new law is the sponsoring of a Conjugal Partner (a marriage like relationship of at least one year but not married or common-law). However for opposite sex couples, if there is no impediment to marriage and the couple plan to get married, their Conjugal Partner application will be rejected.
If you get married the average processing times for a spousal sponsorship application in India is 2 months and Pakistan is 6 months. Plus the usual one month in Mississauga.
