Hi All
I am looking for some answers from anyone who knows what to do. My girlfriend is from China. Her and I want to live together here in Canada should I marry her in china or canada. And how do I get her here and live with me. I been confuse trying to find the right answers. What are the steps to do or should she get a 3 month visa to come here and marry her here. Or is it better to marry her in china. I would like to get some help on this it is driving me nuts trying to find a way to do this. I am going to China in Dec for x-mas and asking her to marry me.

If she can enter Canada on a legal VISA, it would be better to marry her here.
If they think she only wants a VISA to marry you (there are no other reasons for her to come to Canada) they will NOT give her a travel/work VISA.
If you try to get her a VISA, and they ask her questions like "do you have a boyfriend in Canada?, a fiance in Canada?" and she lies so she can get a VISA, and they find out she lied, you will never get her into the country. Also, if they deny her the VISA, and you marry her there instead, you will have to talk to the same people at the Embassy... they same people she would have told that she did not have a boyfriend in Canada.... you can get yourself in Hot Water doing this.
By all means, try to get her here on a travel VISA, but DO NOT LIE to anyone about anything at CIC. If this fails, do not keep trying and trying and trying to get a travel VISA... it will appear she is trying every method possible to shortcut immigration.
So, if she cannot get a travel VISA, then go to China and marry her. Maybe try to find a job teaching English there, learn her culture a bit, wait the long wait, and come back with her to Canada.

PS. Read the Canadian governments web site about VISAs and Sponsorship so you have a better grasp of all the details involved... it is rough being surprised after you are married how hard it will be. Better the Devil you know, as my Mom liked to say....

We met on the net does that matter. I am going to china for 3 weeks in Dec to meet her.

Dude, where are you from? If you are going to sponsor her, you will be responsible for all her expenses in the first three years after she lands. I just wanted to tell you be very careful!
