Does anyone know what Canadian Immigration mean when they state "Notarized Copies" ?
I know what the official definition is : It is a document that is signed by a Notary as a true copy of the original. However, Notaries in the UK charge even more than Lawyers/Solicitors at around ?200 for one hour of their time (No, I am not joking !) so can I get someone like a Doctor, Bank Manager or Qualified Accountant to sign them off instead ?
Any views would be most welcome.
Thanks

(in reply to: Notarized or Certified) Yep you don´t have to spend millions to get documents notarized. Here in the US the bank does it free for their customers or else charges a nominal fee if not a customer. Go to your bank and ask the manager.Cheers.

(in reply to: Notarized or Certified) The docs that I submitted were certified true copies as certified by my bank manager. However, I am still awating interview schedule so I cannot really tell if they are accepting it or not. Goodluck!

(in reply to: Notarized or Certified) Thanks for the replies so far.
But are the guidelines different in USA to the UK ?
Joe, Are you from the UK ? If not, did it say certified or notarized in the guide notes ? Canada Immigration have different definitions for eachof these, see

(in reply to: Notarized or Certified) I applied in Buffalo NY, my instruction said to send Notarized photocopies....so I guess it´s alright. About the guidelines being different...I don´t really know but I don´t see any reason why they would be different.

(in reply to: Notarized or Certified) Hi, I apply from Finland through London. It´s not mentioned that papers should be notarized. ( I applied 15 may 2005 and now went to medical November 11, 2007). I read other countries requirments and YES there is differece even how pics you need. Make sure have you got the right paper cause I am sure you don´t need to notarized unless it says.
