| Subject: medical exam - photos and translation |

Hello,
I am sponsoring my wife for PR.
For the medical exam, it says to bring 5 recent photographs. Do these have to be passport photos, immigration photos to accoring to the specifications laid out in the Immigrants guide, or just any regular old pictures? Do they mean 5 identicle photos, or could it be 5 different photos.
Also, you need to include with your package to the case processing centre, Copy 2 of the form the medical examiner fills out for you. Does this need to be translated into English.

Hi Dave,
1. copy and paste this link into your browser bar http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3908e.pdf
2. Print out Appendix D. This will be the form you must fill out and bring to the DMP.
3. Print out Appendix C. This is the full set of instructions for the photos you will need for the medical examination ? yes, they are the same as Immigration Photos so you can kill these two birds with one stone.
The form that the doctor gives you to send in as proof of the examination should already be in English. I live in Korea where English is not spoken much at all, and mine was still in English. The doctors on the designated list were chosen by CIC to be able to cope with English forms. They are official Canadian government forms and thus must be available in English or French(or one would think, anyway).
Make sure that the doctor signs the form that you have to send in to CIC. I know of one case where the doctor overlooked this.
Don?t let the medical examination stress you. It?s just a bunch of routine crap that takes a few hours out of your day.

Hi Mike,
Well, I will get 5 additional immigration pictures according to Appendix C, but the guide does not really make this clear.
The checklist indicates that I should send with my application, 8 photographs of my wife according to Appendix C. It states that I may need additional photos of my wife for the medical examp. Appendix D states that I need to bring to the doctor "5 recent pictures" taken within the last 6 months. It gives no mention if these pictures must be the same as the ones outlined in Appendix C. So, I guess that means we will get 13 of these pictures.... 8 for the sponsorship application, and 5 for the doctor.

Hey Dave,
If you look on Appendix D (page 2) where it lists what to bring to the doctor, the following will be written:
"five recent pictures taken within six months preceding the date of the examination...(see Appendix C for photo specifications)."
I thought I?d point this out to you to set your mind at ease that getting 13 immigration-size pictures is the right thing to do.
The people at CIC like to claim that all the information is strait forward and easy to follow, but all of us who have already gone through it know otherwise. You really do have to read over everything a thousand times to make sure to catch every detail.
I?m sure your medical examination will go nice and smooth.

Hello, I´m sponsoring my husband, I came to Brazil when I was 11 years old, now me and my family want to go back to Canada. I´d like to know if the co-signer is so important in this case?
