hi Isabella

well, both are very good choice and the only available choice too. so if he is accepted in both countries, i think he needs to do a comparison between the two countries, well about australia, i met with an immigration officer that day and he explained to me that the australian immigration takes from 12 to 18 months to get the visa if u qualify and i think there is two months for certificate assessment. about Canada i think from what u hear it takes same processing time and more, in my case five year without the medical, but my application is submitted to Damascus office, so this office is an exception huh?

whatever coutry he/she choses it will be a good choice.

good luck

Radi

If you don´t want to loose your time and money go to Australia. I´ve applied for Canada but I´m considering seriously the australian option. I don´t want (and don´t need) to stay 3-4 years waiting for a decision.

I guess you also need to consider the chances of getting a job. From what I have heard it lloks as if integrating onesself in Australia in terms of getting a job is a bit more less frustrating than in Canada. In anycase, it also depends on your field of speialization

Hi Anonymous....I agree with you. I´ve considered also between these 2 countries. Based on my observation, job fields in Aussie are much lesser than in Canada. Furthermore, if you get Canadian PR, you would have a right to get job in US under NAFTA. But, if you choose to spend lifetime, climate in Aussie, more friendly I guess.

Ummm they hav decided that they dont want to live in their country. They have decided that they just want to go and settle anywhere but their home country... And they dont care where but anywhere besides their home country... I wonder why people do that...

Anyways for my two cents worth... look at the job prospects in the respective countries and see where they can transfer their skills. There is no point in settling in a place where you can go and immigrate there easily but then cant find a job.

Also looks a few years ahead... what about the retirement options from both countries, the health coverage, the future of your kids along a few years down the line... and things like that... These are more important issues then just selecting either Canada or Australia...

Give it a good thought... and decide...

Good Luck.

Please do not make the decision based only on the processing time for immigration or the amount of money it takes. Your decision now is going to make or break your future.

I have a friend who has Australian immigration, and he has great things to say about the place including the job market, people and standard of life in general.

Unfortunately, I don´t have anyone in Canada, so this forum is my sole source of information. And I have seen there are totally mixed opinions from people. So your guess is as good as mine.

One thing is certain, put in more time to do your homework and learn about the past, present and possible future of the countries before you decide. It will be time well spent and will help you avoid any dissapointment and/or second guessing !!

Wish you luck.

The Australian economy is doing much better than Canada´s. But then again, these things change over time.

Are you prepared to stand upside down for the rest of your life, and drive on the left side of the road...

If not... come to Canada!
