Subject: Genuine marriage? Please help
Ours is a true love marriage. We sent marriage cert., pictures of our outings, proof of our living together for 3 months, etc.

Does somebody could tell me if the immigration officer will be convinced that this a genuine marriage? If not, what should we do? Will there be an interview? Do we need to hire a consultant to help us? My wife lives in China and I am Canadian by birth.

Thanks, thanks for your help.

Don´t worry, they will beleive. There is a process after you get married that you should worry about if your marriege is not real.
Otherwise everything is fine.

Genuine Marriage (in reply to: Genuine marriage? Please help)
Generally speaking, a visa officer may refuse an application by a spouse if he or she determines that the marriage is for immigration purposes. Such a determination is fairly subjective. If a visa officer is suspicious, he or she will usually question each spouse separately about the history of the relationship, relatives and so forth to determine if the answers are consistent. If an application is refused on this basis, the Canadian spouse may appeal to the Appeal Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board for determination. Note that the non-Canadian spouse will not likely be able to testify, as he or she will not likely be granted a visa to enter the country. However, he or she could usually testify through a tele-conference.

A Visa may not be required. The spouse may enter the country (Canada) if he/she is a U.S. citizen. I have sponsored my American wife and we will both head off to canada next month. We both visited my folks up in Canada last X-mas and all she had was her U.S. passport.

Unfortunately, the wife, in this case, is Chinese and there is NO possibility for her even to visit Canada.
Thanks for all your replies.

Its very simple...all you have to do is to gather some proof that you are married. It doesnt matter you are inlove or not coz they dont really care of that. All you have to do is to go to china and ask for the immigration there coz i suppose they can help you. If the chinese are not allowed to travel to canada and what in the hell the chinese people here and there are so many doing here?! so its hard but its possible. Just be patient and do your job done in the process.

Hi eveyrone,
I´m a canadian citizen and went to China few months ago. I met someone (who might be my future wife). I want to see if I can bring her here and maybe get marry here also. But I´m also afriad that the CIC might think this is just a fraud, since even I think this is happening too fast. MY questions is, what are the consequences for me and my partner if they think is a fraud?? will I be charge? will she get sent back?? please advise.
