Subject: Refused Entry?
  Hi,

I am currently in canada as a visitor and my visa is going to be expired at the end of June. I´ll be leaving canada before it expires to the US for half a month and then back to canada after that.
I have with me a return ticket to singapore dated 4 months from July.

Will I still be denied entry at Toronto when I attempt to return after the US trip, even though I have the return ticket back to singapore? I have a valid reason that I want to export my dog out too but the documentation needs time to process....which is why I couldn´t leave in just a month or so.

I dunno what I will do if I am being denied entry.....

Please can anyone help me on this?

Cindy...
If you have the Canadian Visa you should have no problems returning to Canada. Make sure your visa is not expired or is not a single entry visa...
You should have no problem getting in to the country of the visa is valid.

Cheers,
HS

Hi HS,

Are you referring to the visitor visa when you say ´Canadian visa´? My visitor visa (the 6 months stay when you first enter canada with a return ticket)will be expired by the time I try to return to canada from US....will I be permitted to enter canada with a new return ticket back to singapore this time round?

My Dear Cindy

You can not entered again if your visa is for single entry. Better you apply for an extention or stay like that as no body going to stamp when you would leave Canada and no body even check your passport on departure. But if you have a Multiple entries visa than you can come to canada again from US.

Good Luck

Hi NK,

So you mean that if I leave canada, I cannot return again as a fresh visitor even though I leave before the visitor visa expires with evidence that I will leave canada with a purchased ticket?

if you are holding a single entry visa, it is for one time only

Cindy,

the best option for you is too apply for another extension which by the way will take about 60 days to reach you from the date of application. You can stay within Canada till you hear from CIC Alberta.

In NO CASE will you be allowed to enter Canada from anywhere in the world if your visa/ visitor permit has expired.

What is more important to you- long visit to US or your dog??

Robinhood,

Are you saying that I can apply the application before my status as a visitor expires and wait for the results to arrive in 60 days? Wouldn´t that make me stay in canada illegally since the permit/visa will be expired by then?

Yes you can apply to CIC Alberta for extension of your visitor permit before the current visa expiry. Once you´ve applied you can stay in Canada LEGALLY until they get back to you.

All the info is available on: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/menu-inside.html

Cindy why are you so desparate to stay here? Singapore is not good? Or you are condemned there too?
