Hello all,
I would like to apply for the Federal program in London, as I am currently in the UK (not my country of citizenship). I have been told that one can only apply in the country they are a citizen of, but can apply in another country if they live there. I understand that to apply in another country, there is a 1 year time limit. What I am confused about, is that I have had to live in the UK for a year, or having a visa for a year is enough?
I have a visa for UK for over a year, but I have not yet lived here for a year. Can I apply prior to my year residency being completed?

A 1 year visa will do, you can apply in London.
But "out of jurisdiction" applications are being processed on a lower priority base.

Any idea how low a priority in terms of length of time? In my country, its 36 to 48 months. London is 19 to 37 (according to cic web site).
Any suggestions, on how I can get them to expide the application (besides getting a job in canada)? I have been told that if I send in original documents and police reports, its faster, is that true?

Thanks for the offer to answer questions. Wont it be better if you answer the question here on the forum, so that others may benefit from your answer as well?
