Subject: Need your advice for Immigration process
  Hi Everybody,
I need your advice on my problem. I applied for Canadian immigration throgh an attorney. Now he is not bothered to update me anything on the status. He and his staff are very reluctant to communicate (after they got 75% of the fees) mail phone or email. My initial assement should have come on May 2004. Now I am worried what is the use of this attorney. He is so lazy he took more than a year to submit my application for his mistakes. So my question now is if I change my address online will it hamper my process or he will create any problem to my immigration case.
Your advice in this matter is highly appreciated.
Regards

Need Your Advice (in reply to: Need your advice for Immigration process)
You have many options. Did your attorney confirm that an application was made on your behalf? If not, and if he or she is no longer communicating with you regarding your file, you may wish to contact the provincial bar association of which he or she is a member for further assistance. If he or she is not a member, then he or she can not practice law in Canada. Feel free to email me if you wish to discuss further.

Hi Gianpaolo Panusa,
Thanks for your advice. Attorney (from USA)has applied on my behalf. Now he assistants are telling they are waiting for the assement. They don´t take any intiative to keep track of assemnt or anything. Just now I received capisnotes I came to know the initial assement is done and decision is not made yet. They have put remark as Paper file sent to PA File BF´d To PAS on 21-08-2004 Microlocator. I understand that they will reopen the case on 21-08-2004 by RAS. My points total is 66 which is one than the required 67. I hope this should be ok.
Thanks once again for your advice.
Regards

same thing happened to me... simply write a letter to the embassy where u have applied asking them to change your address and correspond with you directly from now on... deal with the lazy attorney separately to retrieve ur money...
