| Subject: US FBI fingerprint-how fast do you get response? |

Hello, just wondering about everyone´s experience.. I currently reside in US so I require police certificate from FBI. I sent my fingerprint card (with my fingerprints I took at local UPS store) to FBI on May 10th, 2005. Now it´s June 24th, 6 weeks, and yet no response from FBI. How fast does it take?
A side note: the letter from Buffalo asking me to get FBI police certificate says that if I don´t submit my documents in 90 days, my application will be rejected.

It takes 8 to 10 weeks to get the FBI clearance.
If you are not able to meet the 90 day deadline please send a fax/ letter to Buffalo mentioning that you are waiting for the clearance.

We sent our fingerprints for FBI clearance from Toronto in mid-April and only got them back this week. About 2 months is a reasonable estimate.

I got my FBI finger prints done from Toronto and sent it in February... Then I called FBI customer service and ask them to speedup as I gave them a dead line and told them that I need it for Canadian immigration...
They did a good job and in 18 days I had my FBI clearance on hand...
give that a try... call them and ask the secretary to put a note for your clearance and to speed up... I was infect impressed at such a quick service...

My experience is 8 to 10 weeks. They do give response to your call.

I have another number for their Customer service which I used to call i.e. (304) 625-5590 or u can also email them at liason@leo.gov. Your FBI certificate doesn´t fall under 90 day rule. It took me 10 weeks to get it from FBI and by that time I already crossed my 90 day limit. CIC in Buffalo knows that sometimes it takes more time and it´s OK with them.

Everyone, thank you for replies.
I wonder if anyone actually had to send a note to Buffalo office that the FBI response has not arrived yet. How did you do it?
I was thinking of sending in the rest of the papers (like bank verification letter, job letter) to Buffalo along with a note saying that I"m waiting for FBI response. Has anyone done this before? How did it work out?

I think I should add this for clarity - I´m at a stage where medical test, job letter, bank letter and FBI police ceritificate was requested by Buffalo. They waived interview requirement. Initial application was submitted in Aug. 2004, AOR November 2004.

Call the FBI. They really do accommodate you.

U should call up FBI ( u can do that after 6 weeks) and telll them n that youn need it on priorty as there is a deadline for your application for canadian imigration.They would help in your case and expedite it.I did the same for my Finger printing report from FBI and I got it within a week of my call to them
