hi,there

i took ielts as per immigration demand
but i took academic it was not mentioned
which ielts i should take ....i took
on june 23 ...after reading this forum
i m shocked ...what i did ....plz help
me what should i do

actually speaking IELTS academic section is much more tougher than general training. so i am thinking u should be fine..but please confirm with CIC that if they are ok with the academic thing and tell them u took it by mistake...if they are fine..u should be good..else you might have to take the general training option again..hey also please post ur detailed timeline here...when did u apply, aor date and IA date or when did CIC request u IELTS or any other documents..thanks..

Its mentioned clearly in CIC website which test to take.

I think it should be ok as both the modules have same four sections ( the academic one have a little bit difficult reading and writing sections than general and the listening and speaking are the same for both). Based on my experience, i have appeared in both and did not find significant difference ( once i appeared for educational purposes in 2000 and then for immigration in 2004)I think the CHC will show some flexibility keeping in view your situation. In worst case scenario if they ask for general module then you should take the general test.
