Subject: Applying for Immigration via New Delhi
I will be applying for immigration via the Canadian Consulate in New Delhi (India) even though I currently live in the Middle East (because I have not been residing here for the mandatory 1 year). Please can someone who has applied through New Delhi address the following concerns:

1. If I apply through New Delhi, then will I be forced to take my Medical Examination in India? Since I am living in Kuwait, it will be really inconvenient (and expensive) to go to India just for the medical. Is it possible to get my medical done in Kuwait and send the results from here?

2. How long does this process usually take when applying from India? I know that people who apply through the Consulate in Kuwait, it usually takes between 6-12months. Is it longer for India?

3. Are the Immigration officers in India more strict about the applications? What I mean to say is that, are my chances of obtaining Immigration reduced if I´m applying via New Delhi (as opposed to applying from Kuwait)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

1) You can do your medicals in Kuwait (or aywhere with the designated DMPs), only one catch - if you are required further test/s then you have to go to the same DMP (there are exceptions)
2) Every CIC office has a different processing time . CIC ND has definitely longer processing time
3) That is not true! Every CIC office and officer has a standard code of conduct

I would like to advice you something at this point. If you are serious to apply, GET A PCC FROM KUWAIT AUTHORITY, as it is tough to get PCC from middle-eastern countries.

Good luck.

Sir/madam,
I have applied Per. Immigration to Canada thru New Delhi and, living in Singapore with my family and waiting for our medical examination. I heard that after medical examination I must send our passports to High Commission of Canada, Imm. Section, New Delhi for stamping the visa.

But, from Singapore sending passports thru courier or registered post to India is little difficult as well as risky too. The DHL giving their reply as below for sending the passports to india, while I enquired.

DHL REPLY:
Thank you for contacting us via our DHL Singapore Website
Having read the content of your enquiry, we wish to inform you that passport is classified as non document shipments in India . Passports should be accompanied by a letter from shipper indemnifying DHL against lost or misuse of the passport. No standard format is required. We will also need a letter from the concerned Embassy/Consulate authorizing DHL to carry the said passport.

India Customs will decide on the authenticity on cases to cases basis. If you require further clarification, please contact our 24 hour Customer Service Hotline number at 1800-285 8888. Our Customer Service Officer will be more than happy to assist.
Regards

1) Is there any alternative solution to get our visa without sending the passport to India?

2) Is it possible to get the stamping in Canadian High Commission in Singapore?

3) Can I collect the passports on the same day, If I come directly to New Delhi? (This option is expensive than other choices and I must return back to Singapore by next day flight as I did last time for the sheduled Interview).

4) or advice me please.

Regards. Sulthan
