| Subject: IELTS requested After Medicals...abnormal? |

My husband and I applied in Buffalo in July 2004 and got our IA in May and medicals were taken on May 20th. However on June 1st they sent out a letter requesting us taking IELTS and we noticed that the date on the letter was originally Feb 2004 and got crossed off and changed to June 1st, 2005. Do you guys think it´s normal to request IELTs after medicals? Or did they just make a mistake?

it doesnt matter if they have crossed off the date..from feb to june maybe they still want ur IELTS...in feb maybe they wanted to send it out to u..but the officer or someone in charge forgot..so its never too later for them to ask for IELTS..better take it and send them the results as their request letter has the new june date...just my opinion..but dont take me for granted..ask some one who´s been in the same kind of situation..they might give u some useful info

The best thing for you is not to lose time and immediately book your seat for IELTS and start preparing. In the meantime, keep calling or contacting CIC for clarifications.

I know one of my friends got the IELTS request this Mar, and he took the TEST on Apr and got passport request on June. (Medical has been done some time last year). Maybe for your case, officer want to make decision to see if you need interview or not based on your test result.

I was asked to sumbit IELTS result after my interview, as IELTS is mandatory now to get the language score.In addition in some cases, they accept the letter (English proficiency claim), however, In most cases they ask for IELTS.
