Many people have asked me whether or not a "spouse" in the family class includes common law partners. Yes, a spouse includes common law partners (i.e., not formally married) and conjugal partners.

definition of common-law partner (in reply to: Spouse includes common law partner) i am married. I was amicably separated with my spouse since year 2000.Presently i have a live-in partner and were living together since January of 2005. My concern is do we belong in the definition of common-law partner? Can we also be granted a tourist visa in Canada and United States of America even we are live-in partner?
Thank you very much for your immediate response.
