Subject: How do they do background check? Will it never end
We submitted our application in Oct 2001 in Buffalo, received interview waiver notice in May 2002, did first medical in Dec 2002. The office requested more documents in April 2003 (to show our expeirence after Oct 2001) and seond Medical. We submitted documents and second medical in June 2003. We inquired in March 2004, and got a response saying that they´re conducting background check. My question is: how do they do background check? Do they have a time limit on background check? It seems they´ll never finish it, and we´re hopelessly waiting without anyway to know their progress. Has anybody ever made complaints to the Minister about their case? Besides, we changed our address and sent the Embassy notice twice, but our address shown on their website is still the old one.Any advice on this? Has anybody ever been to Buffalo Embassy? Do they allow people to go in and talk about their cases? Thanks a lot

yap, I was waiting for 19 months for them to do the background check. I don´t know how they do this, for some it is much faster... just frastrating.

patience is the key, and if everthing is ok you will be fine.

THEY DO NOT allow ppl AT BUFFAlO unless theRE IS a good reASON TO GO..like pp stAMPING ETC.
I Waited for bkrnd chk for AROUND 2 YRS and now my cASE IS no COMPLETE.
It DEPENDS ON SEVERAl issues including country of origin. THE ONLY THING WHICH YOU Can do is...Wait WITH patiANCE and do not send them lot of fAXES and letters unless required.
