I think your family members will be OK.
I am a little bit confused. How long has your application been with CIC? are you a student living with your parents? Your age is too old for your sister to sponsor.

whether you are rejected or not depends upon your application status. If you are applying as a skilled worker, then, yes your application will be rejected if you pose a health risk or would impose undue burden on the Canadian health system. Canada does not consider HIV in and of itself to be a health risk, but it certainly is a condition that poses an enormous burden on the health system, so I would expect HIV+ skilled worker applicants would be denied.

On the other hand, family class applicants are only rejected if they pose a public health risk. Since Canada does not consider HIV+ status to be an automatic public health risk, it is not a reason for automatic exclusion.

It is all explained in the CIC rules found online.

Grendel... thanks.. I should have known this already, as I am sponsoring someone under family class. Yes, in my guide it only states public health risk.

Worried, your sister has sponsored each or you individually? Or are some of you "accompanying" family members?

Dave
