Nationality-Indian.
Worked in a 2 or more countries other than India.
Now working in Australia for the last one month, can I apply for Canadian immigration in Sydney, Australia or I must apply only from India? Thanks

No you can´t. You should work in Aussie for at least one year legally before you can apply from there. Right now, you can apply only from India.

Thanks all for the response.

Kenny, does it mean that I must have stayed in Australia for one year or just I must have one year work visa and I can apply even if it is just one month I have been there?

You must have lived there legally working for at least one year BEFORE applying from Sydney.

are you sure guys??? the way I read it, CIC wants you to be in the country of application (in this case Austrailia) for one year. I am thinking this is so that you do not simply arrive in a country, file and then leave. They want to be able to complete the process at one consulate. Remember, whatever country you apply from you must be prepared to attend interviews there etc.

I could be mistaken - it would not be the first time. :)

You should have lived in australia for one year and stay more in that country if necessary, because after you apply for immigration, the immigration authorities might call for interview 7-9 months later if necessary.
if you are sure of staying in australia for next 2 years or more from now, i would apply for immigration after my first year stay in australia.
