Reagrding getting PCC from India I can throw some light since I applied for my spouse at Indian Consulate at Dubai.

You need to go to the Indian Consulate in your place of stay and apply for PCC in a prescibed form. You need to submit your passport along with form and they will hold it for 45 days (your passport.

After 45 days and if they dont receive any adverse report they will issue the PCC at the conuslate itself.

Hi Sandy,

First thing you should do is visit the website www.cic.gc.ca. You will find the answers to most of your questions there. Download the guide for immigration. Visit the following link to get information on how to get FBI clearance:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37048.pdf

To get Indian PCC you have to contact the Inidan embassy that has jurisdiction over your area of residenc in US. One of the miscellaneous services provided is the PCC.

Thanks for response Pushpa and Kenny. Kenny, a special thanks for pointing the document link.

I have got few more questions of same stream. I would appreciate if you can have a look.

1. Do I need to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate at the filing the application? Does that mean I?ll have to send Police Clearance Certificate when I?ll send my application first time? Why I?m asking this question because I saw in one thread in which it was mentioned that for obtaining Police Clearance Certificate, I?ll have send letter which I have received from Canada Immigration Department and I guess, I?ll receive that letter from them after filing my application only.
2. Do I need to obtain Police Clearance Certificate for my wife as well? She was accompanying me in US, but her VISA status was H4 and she was not doing anything during that time period.
3. I have seen some time people have given their PCC to Canada Immigration Department and later on again it was asked by Canada Immigration Department to get PCC. In that case do we need to get PCC again from US and India? However after that we have not been to US for more that 2 months period (Business Trip couple of times).

Please do let me know, if any of the question is not clear to you.

Thanks again for cooperation.

Regards,
Sandy
