Subject: Lazy in summer time?
Did anybody get PPR in summer time during July and august? I was told that processing at Buffalo almost stop during summer time because the visa officers will be enjoying their vacation. I am anxious for waiting for PPR!

Is that true? Pls share your experience. Thanks in advance!

Worried!

the question is based on speculation and is utterly stupid and unprofessional .Again why are you worried??

I wouldn´t say it´s utterly stupid Anonymous.

It could be true. I know where my application is being processed (Trinidad), they are just too relaxed and don´t like to work. Hence the 12-15 months processing period.

I know there are hundreds of thousands of immigration applications around the world. However, I think one of the major reasons for the backlog is the delay in getting things done because people don´t like to work. Not saying everyone though, but I would bet my last dollar that sometimes things just don´t get done, becuase they don´t want to do it.

And so we have to wait patiently....

The major reason for the long processing time is the fact that the number of applicants (per year) is greater than the number of visa´s the Consulate can issue (per year). This leads to a backlog and so the processing time gets longer.

Why worried?

My medicals will be expired at the end of this October and my job contract in Canada will end of this year. I will definitely get lots of trouble next year if I plan to continue staying here under a work permit.

I just find this forum and knew I am not alone because I am under big pressure to wait for my immigration visa!

Anybody else did medicals in north america in October 2004? We are in the same boat and pls share your case! Thanks!

By the way, I ordered the CAIPS note yesterday and thanks all of you for your valuable information and help!

I was told that it usually takes 6 months to get PPR after completion of medicals at Buffalo and some even got it in 3 months. But 8 months pasted after my medicals and haven´t heard of anything as of yet. Actually, my case is very simple plus I hold a work permit.

Anonymous, then they can easily increase that number of visa issued so that there won´t be a backlog.

I understand that they can only admit so many skilled workers per year which would explain the long processing time in that category.

What about family class sponsorship? Why does it have to take so long?

hi to add to the discussion...I observed in the Detroit Visa Status update (I analyze the file #s) that the average daily interviews being done was lowered to 4 interviews as compared to 6 or 8 interviews per day before.

Joe05, thanks for that info.

I am sure there are a few immigration officers at that location? Why only 4 per day?

I guess that is the point I am trying to make. People are sitting on things.

If your PPR does not come through before your visa expires, you can give your best shot to extend that visa and if that fails, go back home and extend life there.... until CIC looks through your file. You can´t blame the CIC: they simply have too many desparate people from all over the world trying to make it into Canada...

forget trying to put blame on lazy immigration officers. I am told that various officers will look at your file during processing. There is a quota, there is background checks outside of the control of CIC, there is waiting for your doctor to send medicals, and yes... there is holidays. Immigration does not close for the summer but I am sure 15-20% of staff take holidays each week. Yes, this makes things slower but they factor all that into the annual processing times. Face it... people are entitled to go home at night, and they are entitled to their holidays.

CIC´s job never ends and there is never a lack if impatient applicants so they must simply carry on each day and not get distracted by everyone lighting their hair on fire because they are anxious for their PP request.

Trying to apply logic or put hard timelines on any component of the immigration process will inevitably make you crazy. Every embassy is different, every file is different, every season of the year is different... just try to take a big breath and see what comes.
