Greetings all,
I applied to London office in April 2004 and got my file number almost a month ago. I filed the results of my IELTS exam results which show an overall score of 7.0. The break down is as follows: listening:6.5, Reading:7.0, Writing:6.5 and Speaking:8.0. I didn´t know that I needed to score 7.0 or above to in EACH category get the highest mark and therefore I calculated 24 points for language skills based on the overall mark. Now, I am worried that my application will be rejected because I didn´t earn enough points. I am having a BSc. in Information and Computer Science with over 8 years working experience in IT field with many industry-related certifications. I also possess a bit of French language (very basic). Can anybody please advise whether I should withdraw my application and resubmit it with a new exam result or let them continue processing it? Appreciate your help.

(in reply to: Language skills - IELTS examination) Hi
you should know, that if you have 2x6.5 , 7 and 8 in IELTS scale you have 4,4,2,2 in CIC scale. So you have 12/16 points for your English knowledge. You can get 24 points if you know English and French perfect ! Then you earn 16 points for First Official Language and 10 for the Second one.
In my opinion your 12/16 score is quite good, but obviously always can be better.
