Subject: Help on my case
I submitted my application to Buffalo on April 2002 and did medical exam on Nov 2003. I am still waiting for background checking.

Do you have any ideas about how to speed up my case?

Thank you in advance.

Oh man, it makes the applicants like me nervous to hear your case, you must have been immigrant longback. Have you tried CAIPS? What´s your nationality and which CIC did you apply?

There are lot of expert advisors here they might be able to advice you on this.

Your medicals expired in Nov 2004. Have they asked you to do your medical exam again? Have you sent a letter or fax requesting status of your case? Have you applied for CAIPS notes? What is your nationality?

You can not speed up your case anyway. If you have not applied for CAIPS notes for some time I reccomend that you do so now. Visit www.caipsnotes.com for more details.

I did send two letters to inquire my application status. First they told me I was under background checking and it takes about 6 to 9 months; then they said it needs about 12 months. In the meanwhile, e-Client Status added another line: "Medical results have been received". Does this mean I don´t need to do medical exam again even it´s expiration?

I remember someone mentioned to write a complain letter to parliament member. Does it work?

Thank you for your answer.

When was the line "Medical results have been received" added to your e-Client? If this has been added recently then you should get some information soon.

Medicals are valid for a period of 1 year. In some cases they extend the validity of the medicals. But they may ask you to do the medicals again.

It was added right before the expiration date.

BTW, I don´t know about CAIPS notes and just check
the site www.caipsnotes.com that you suggested.
I wonder can I get CAIPS notes by myself? Where I can get it, if answer is yes.

Thanks.

I have same situation here. My medical valdity date is July 20, 2005. First week of july, It had showed, "Medical have been received". Seems to me like they will send me another medical. Moreover, they send me Urgent letter as well as forms (Application for Permanent Residence in Canada [IMM 0008],Schedule 1: Background/Declaration [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 1] ... etc)
I have already sumbited all documents, no progress, my mdeical is about to expire now.

Hi Lucy,

If you live in Canada you can get you CAIPS notes for free.

If you live in USA or any other country you have to use the services of websites like www.caipsnotes.com to get your CAIPS notes. The approx cost is US$30. It takes 30 to 45 days to get the notes.

2Rana:

That´s werid, in a month after medicals, I also got a letter from buffalo asking to send them "Schedule 1: Background/Declaration" ASAP. First I thought that the form has changed (may be they added some new questions or something?) - but the form was _identical_ to that I submitted with the application... Interesting, why do they do that???

Chemist,

This person has same situation too.

"Does anyone know at what point does background check starts for sponsored spouse? and how long might it take?

My file has been in process since 7 March 2005 in Damascus, Syria. During processing time they have asked for several additonal documents. Their last correspondence on 16 June 2005 was a form that i had to fill out and send back. It contained questions about my background (i.e number or passports i have had, countries i had visited, education, etc..)

Since then, I have heard nothing. I did my interview in May 2005.

Any ideas at what they may be doing at this stage. I ordered my CAIPS notes anyways.

Thank you in advance."
