Spousal sponsorship - How would this work?

Subject: Spousal sponsorship - How would this work?
First, here is our position. I am a canadian citizen since birth and my partner is a chinese citizen, but she has been studying in canadian college and university for the past 3 and half years. We´ve never lived together due to the fact that we are both students (university too, for me) and went to different universities after we both graduated from the college we met in. We are respectively 21(me) and 22(her)

Now we are both about 1 year from graduation, but we both want to do our master´s degree. The problem is, she cant apply for citizenship herself until we graduates, and that takes 2-3 years from what I heard. She wont be able to afford post-graduate education if she keeps paying as a foreign student and being not able to find work without a visa or internship program.

So we decided to get married so I can sponsor her and thus we can both continue our education at the same rate, then once we graduate, we can find work at the same time and hopefully same city.

She technically could get citizenship herself in January 2007 once she graduates, but we want to rush things up and she cant keep paying for education.

Now,
I´ve been to the official http://www.cic.gc.ca/ website for information about what requirements we have to fill as a married couple. I couldn´t find any specific detail aside from being officially married, but in the application forms, I see that it asks us if we live together and how long we´ve been married.
I was wondering, just how much these details matter, as I said, we are both students go to different universities, so we keep a long distance relationship and see each others in a monthly frequency at best. That is, until we both finish our education (Probably will get my master´s at the same place as her)

How would her application be judged on that? and would they consider the fact that she is almost graduated?

Anyways, if anyone can help me even more with this, I´d really appreciate this. We are in a rush considering Ill be off in Japan 6-8 months next year for foreign studies for my major in finance, so then I wont be easily available.

Ok

1- (She) in order to become Canadian citizen , she must apply first for Permanent Resident and after 3 years out of 5 IN Canada she may apply for citizenship.

2- The process is set in two stages.
a-Sponsorship (YOU)
b-Permanent Residence application (her)

If yor are found elegible as her sponsor , CIC will continue processing her application for Permanent Residence.

You must prove to the Immigration officer that your relationship is genuine. You may be asked to show weadding pictures and most likely she will be asked to attend an interview with an Immigration officer.

To be honest with you , it is a little bit risky to apply from within Canada.
If her PR applications doesn?t go through , she will be under risk to be removed from Canada and you won?t have a right to appeal.

It is safer to apply from her country of citizenship.

As I told you , if your relationship is not for convinence you shouldn?t have any problem.

The relationship in itself isnt for convenience, but the relationship life style ISNT convenient :p We dont live together, we dont see each others every day, we live far away from each others since we study. I dont know what weight it has to the fact that we are university students. How it´s viewed and perceived.

I realize that you guys don?t live together but as her husband you have the right to sponsor her.

As long as you can prove that your relationship is genuine even if you guys don not live together.

Of course , wedding pictures , phone bills , and some other stuff that might be useful to demostrate a genuine relationship.

How I said.... looks risky.

Looks risky, yes, but I read up more on how she could apply through "skilled worker" once she graduates, which already starts her off a year late. Skilled Worker method looks VERY VERY complicated, expensive and hard also.

Is the risk worth it since the only other alternative is Skilled Worker and sets her off by one year, plus I dont know how long it will take MORE for her to get PR compared to being sponsored
