Bishnu,

If its just luggage, you may want to ship it using a courier service. U-Hauls are very expensive... especially when you are not returning the vehicle to its original location. It gets even more expensive when you are dropping the vehicle off in a foriegn country.

Of course, it depends where you are coming from, and where you are going to. If you are going from Detroit to Windsor, it will be very cheap. If you are going from Miami to Whitehorse, it will be hugely expensive.

Of course, furniture is hard to ship, and very expensive. But, if you can fit everything into boxes, you may want to consider 5 day ground shipments to Canada, plus take whatever you can as luggage on a plane or luggage in your car if you are driving.

The U-Haul website will give you a price if you enter the pickup and drop off locations and dates.
