I don?t know how it goes in BC but in Ontario, they may not grant you a licence. It?s a bit tricky to PROVE your experience with just a driver?s licence. I?ve seen my friend who had 6+ years experience in Thailand turned down.
So, I?m thinking it might be a good idea to get some sort of a signed and sealed document from your local ROAD POLICE stating that you have been driving such and such car for such duration and had no road accidents/tickets and get it translated into English/French. Anyone else please feel free to comment on my idea. Do you think this might work?

(in reply to: Driver's license) I don´t think that will work. It´s up to them to give it to you or not.
Canada has a problem with accepting anything from other coutries.
