| Subject: Police Certificate Clearance from the States |

Hi,
I´m a resident of Pakistan. I completed my undergrad in the states a few yr´s back and am currently working here. I´m going for grad. studies now and the embassy here requires me to get an official police clearance from the States. I have no clue as to how i should go on with this.
If anybody here has the information necessary for me to proceed i would be really grateful. (if you happen to have the exact address and contact info. such as phone #´s, email, etc, then that would be a tremedous help)
also, has anyone here gone through the medical & clearance process in pakistan? how long did it take for you?

For USA download this form

Fill it out+ finger prints, If you can´t do so,check yellow pages for nearest finger print service, they will charge you $30-$50, so its better to do by your self, you could check instructions.
Apply by mail to:
FBI - CJIS Division
Attn: SCU, Mod D-2
1000 Custer Hollow Road
Clarksburg, West Virginia
26306 USA
Tel: (304) 625-3878
Service Fee of $18USD is applicable and must be in the form of a bank draft or money and payable to the "U.S. Treasury"
Approximately 6-8 weeks for processing, upon receipt to the FBI
For PAK,
As if you are in Pakistan at present apply in Person. If you are in USA.
Apply Nearest Pakistan mission.
1. Application Form
2. Citizens ID card
3. Residence permit (for non-residents)
4. Addresses History
5. Periods of residence
For Pak, you could pay some one to get Police Certificate.

Hey Rana,
thank you very much for the information. Are you an immigration lawyer?
do i have to send them my duration of stay, arrival/departure dates to and fro from the states during my studies, university info, passport copies, etc,etc ?

Dear Asim,
I´m not immigration lawyer and you´re well come.If you refering US police clearance/FBI then answer is, you just have to mail fee and the form.
I´m from pakistan too, I have told you about pakistan procedure.

But the current FBI processing time is ten weeks.
If you put a deadline on the outside and inside of the envelope and use a delivery service with a tracking number (FedEx, UPS priority) they can process it in four weeks (and find you application if they do not process it by the deadline).

Yeah...Tim is right...
I called them and asked them to process it faster... they did it for me in 3 weeks...
