  Hey Guys...
I guess finally I have been out of my misery... I immigrated on 18 June under skilled category.

I got my PR card for which I was really worried because I am like travelling next week out of Canada.

But just as you think that things are now good for you... I get this SIN card with a wrong spelling. Now it gets even better... I get a standard letter attached with my SIN card saying... Your name has been spelled wrong as per specified in your documents. We are aware about it. Please go to HRDC and apply for a correction...

And I am like WTF... Whats wrong... you know the name is spelled wrong and you have the balls to write me a letter saying we are aware of our stupidity and because of that you have to go to HRDC to inform us that we have done a mistake and need to fix this ??? What kind of system is this ???

I pity these people... and I feel like laughing at them... I just dont know what to tell them...

A Developed country... my A$$ developed country... how can they even think like that... couldnt they just reprint the card and send a proper one... why do they ahve to send me the wrong printed card and ask me to go to HRDC... this is really funny...

Pathetic I say...

Hey Boss...

I am not bitching about Canada... I guess living for 7 years in Canada and the way it advertises itself... being all developed and hit tech and all that stuff...

Once you come here you know its all a bloody hoax... and nothing else...

Once you get into the system you come to know how you are screwed... the grass looks greener on the other side...

If I was back home I may have not made as much money as I made here but I would be living more luxourious life...

someone may say then why not go back... Yeah right... after spending like more then $100,000 in Canada to settle and study and all that stuff I am not leaving this place unless I get my principle plus the interest...

Anyways what I wanted to focus here was the stupid system... When these jokers know that the name is prnted wrong they still have the balls to mail the card and write a letter stating we know we did a mistake... what the hell is that ??? can you explain that stupidity...

Anonymous,

Calm down man.

Being a developed country, Canada has a systen for everyhting. It has a proper channel for requests to change information on SIN card among other things.
Making a mistake is no big deal, you should be happy that you live in a country where they acknowledge thier mistakes and proactively inform you to get it corrected.

I know some cases where people get the visas issued and are denied entry in the destination port just because there is a typo in their visa which they did not find out earlier.

you would have been in bigger misery if you had overlooked this mistake and tried to use the SIN for some important purpose.

Insted of bitching about Canada , why do not tell all the great things that this Country has done for you.

As you said , you have spend more than 100k , wasn?t it worth it?

If it hasn?t been... leave Canada then.
BUT if it is shut the hell up and fix your situation.

There is no perfect government around the world eh!

One should note, that no matter how developed a country is, people still make spelling mistakes. Canada will not get pushed into the third world, because a civil servant made a spelling mistake, on perhaps a name that he/she has never seen before.

Also, HRDC cannot just go changing things on their own. This could lead to fraud and other such things if HDRC people can go and change documents whenever they felt the need.

"someone may say then why not go back... Yeah right... after spending like more then $100,000 in Canada to settle and study and all that stuff I am not leaving this place unless I get my principle plus the interest... "

That´s the spirit! Come to Canada for return on ivestment! And of course, your life of luxury in your home country made you want to leave and come to Canada.

Honestly... please leave.

Dave

Obviously, if they could correct the mistake without your authority, or whatever, they would have.

But still, it´s their JOB to SPELL A NAME RIGHT. Especially if it´s a name they´ve never seen. That´s why we, taxpayers, pay them salary, fat pension and all the benefits. I mean, how hard it can be? Just because someone at the front didn´t do his/her job right, it cost us, taxpayers more than it should. We, canadian taxpayers, deserve better. There should not be any excuse for lousy job and we should not be afraid of asking for better service.

So, Anon.., welcome aboard and lets push for the best all together all new and old canadians.
