Subject: Help Please, going to Canada on work visa.....
Can someone give me some advice.. Ive recieved my acceptance for work visa to Canada. I shall be leaving soon from China to Canada.. Once there , I would like to visit my sister in USA... I would also like to see my boyfriend who is in US too. How soon can I apply for a B2 visa (is that correct) after arriving in Canada for a visit to my sister in the states. Will I get denied?? How difficult will obtaining the visa be.. Should I apply for a single entry or multiple entry? Can someone give me the advice... I´m excited about coming to Canada but at same time, I really would like to visit my family... My sister would give to me the letter of inviation , she is awaiting green card but her husband is true american... advice... thankyou

You should not have any problems getting a visitor´s visa to the States, you will just need to document your purpose of stay in Canada. You should be aware that, depending on the location, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months before you can attend an interview at the US Embassy/Consulate. An interview is mandatory.

Ok thank you Max... So once I get into Canada I can start this procedure imediately.. it will not draw a red flag... They wouldnt care I have only been in Canada a short time.. as long as I show I have a good job there and only request to visit for two weeks and have every intention of coming back.. does anyone know if I can get a multiple entry visa to come again at other times like Christmas, ect or is it easier or better to get the single entry

Hi Bubbles, http://www.amcits.com/ is a useful site for scheduling or information. Should be a problem for you to get a multiple entry visa.

Bubbles,

You can always try to get your family to come up north, if they are US citizens, it should be no problem. If not, they can start working on the papers now, and can visit you in Canada very shortly after you arrive.
