Subject: What to say in Application to sponsor and Undertak
  Hello Everyone,

I am Canadian PR and resident of Canada. I recently got married and currently in process of submitting application to sponsor my wife to Canada. Can anyone of you please help me clearing my doubt?

The doubt I have in completing application form IMM 1344 A (Application to Sponsor and Undertaking) in Option C point 6 (b and c)is, Since I am resident of Canada and my wife lives in her home country.

1.Do I need to complete point 6 (b and c) under Option C (Person Being Sponsored and Hir or Her Family Member) of Application to Sponsor and Undertaking form IMM 1344 A?

2. And also please explain me what does "in Canada class" means?

Thanks.

TNIM,

In Canada class would be if your wife currently lives in Canada (say, under a work permit). Please (anyone) correct me if I am wrong.

I got confused here too, because my wife is not "In Canada Class" so I thought I should fill this out, but is says to fill this out if your wife does not live in her country of nationality.

I left it blank, but added an extra sheet, explaining that I was confused, and stated that I left this blank because my wife is not "In Canada Class" but lives in her country of nationality.

Dave

Dave,
Thanks for replying. I thought the same as u did for "In Canada Class".

But again in the same form under section E (Eligibility Assessment) point 1 to 4, if you ans "No" anyone of them then you are not eligible to sponso

And the point 3 says "Are you sponsoring a memeber of the family class or a memeber of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class ? this make confusion again, If I say "No" to this point then I am not eligigle to sponsor and if I make an essemption that "In Canada class" is for the one who´s spouse living in Canada then this is not the form which I need to use? am I right?

please clarify again.

Mr Dave, when you say u attach an extra sheet explaining them about the confusion. Then what happen next in you case? is the applicatoin approved?

Thanks

Dave, you are correct about the definition of IN CANADA CLASS.

The section both of you refer to is designed for a person in my wife?s situation. She is a Philippine citizen living in Korea. She must check the box saying her address is not in the country of her nationality and that she has been admitted there for at least a year.

She is then given the option of having her application processed either in Korea or in the Philippines.

This question is definitely and clearly not applicable to someone IN CANADA CLASS, but left ambiguous to someone fitting into neither of the above situations.

My feeling is that this is simply not applicable to either of you guys. But I think Dave was wise to cover his tracks by adding an explanation. This question has already been reworded from the last version of the application (you should have seen it before). But I suspect they will have to amend the wording further in the next version as well.
