Subject: Deportation after sponsoring spouse
I have been a fix since quite a few days thanks to the woman i got married back home. we were having quite some problems after marriage while her spouse sponsorship case was being processed and it went on to the terms for me asking for a separation in the form of a divorice from her. Once seeing that, she and her family members decided to send her to canada without even me or my family knowing about it. 3 weeks of she staying in this country (durning that time i kept trying her cellphone back home but it seemed to be switched off all the times) her uncle called up my father and advised him to pick up my wife from someone´s house in another city here in canada. all said and done, i was not even informed immediately that she has received her visa. she after coming to my house expected me to show her some normal behavior and said what she did was a very small thing. anyways she asked for a separation 2 days after that. we have not shared the same bed or had any physical relation since the day we got married. but now things took a different turn and it resulted my father walking me out of the house and telling and a big smile on my face. i want to end this marriage and possibly send her back from where she came. any suggestions???
thanks in advance

why did you not advise CIC about the divorce request or formally withdraw the sponsorship?

You sponsored your wife to come to Canada and now you have a responsiblity for her. She had every right under immigration law to arrive in Canada - you legally sent for her! She does not require your permission to travel - she got that the day you sent in your application.

what did she find when she arrived at your house... another woman?

sorry my friend, how would you like us to help you? You have no power to send her back home and she has the full protection of Canadian law. You are free to divorce her but that will not end your obligations.

i had intentions of improving the relationship with her and not degrading them. i know she is my responsibility but if she teams up with my father and throw me out of the house while they both enjoy a hearty laugh on my expenses, then i dont think i will let that happen. since the last 2 days i have not entered the house neither received a call from any of them, i did call my wife once to ask if she is happy with my removal from the house, she said she is very happy. if i pay for the house and all its expenses and at the same time these individuals are staying in the house without even contributing one red cent and then have the guts to tell me to get out of the house, then i dont think the police will refuse to help me in this case. and no, she did not find any other woman in my house, but she did find that the life that my father is living is enjoyable life and she should follow suit. both she and my fahter sleep eat watch tv and sleep. then she is trying to find a job as a bus mechanic, first learn to drive a car atleast. then i am threatened by my father that her uncle can hang me upside down. thats crap. cant take it for much long. either she will go back home or i will go back home.

Well , it seems F.U.B.A.R man.

You can?t get her out of the country but you may break up your relationship if you wish.

For the next years , you are responsable for her since you put your signature on the undertaking contract.

Not much to do

I am a little confused why your father sides with your wife... this is more a family problem than an immigration problem.

yes it is more of a family problem because my parents do not get along well and i have to face excessive mood swings of my mother and at the same time maintain peace between my parents. it takes toll on me and my nerves and as of this moment my mother is standing by me and my father is throwing me out. god knows who is gonna do what next. but as i am paying for all the expenses, i am going to take the assistance of the cops to get in the house and atleast remove my name from the mortgate and let my wife and my father manage the expenses while being jobless. all the utilities and cable and phone bills are paid by me. so i dont think that they reserve the right to throw me out of the house just because i own 2 percent of the share of the house.

if you sponsored your parents, you will still have financial obligations. 10 years from the date they arived. 3 years for your wife. the idea of taking your name off the mortgage is dreaming. No bank in the world will release you when there is nobody financially capable of paying the debt. you can consider selling the house, disconnecting the phone and the cable but you are still required to care for the basic needs of those you sponsor.

You are in a tough spot... but Canada is not likely going to let you off the hook.
