Subject: sponsor sister to migrate to Canada |

I have a sister who lives in Canada and she is already a Canadian citizen. We have 2 sisters whom we want to migrate to Canada by my sister sponsoring them. One is single (37 years old) the other is married (48 years old). We do not want them to apply as independent immigrant because they can be sponsored by my sister under the category of family member. Can you confirm this to me? I have looked at the Canadian website and the way they explain it is too "wordy" and complicated. I am a US citizen living in California. Thanks.

sister can not sponsor sister (in reply to: sponsor sister to migrate to Canada) Hi Carol,
Unfortunatelly, sister can not sponsor sister (siblings) as a family member, unless your sister is under 19 and some other conditions. Your mother could sponsor your sisters on a family member sponsorship.
If your parent(s) is not here you could sponsor your parent(s) and they could sponsor your sisters.
