Subject: Not applicable on EVERY SINGLE space?
on completing the sponsorship forms, it says that if there are any sections that do not apply, write NOT APPLICABLE.

on two part questions like:

Has your spouse/partner met any of your close friends or family?
NO
YES
If you answer NO, do you have to write NOT APPLICABLE on the YES space or leave it blank?

or

Are you currently living in Canada?
YES
NO
If I answer YES, do i have to write NOT APPLICABLE on the space given to explain "NO" or leave it blank?

any advice will be much appreciated. this is a frustrating thing because if any questions are left blank CIC sends it back.

I think the not applicable refers to questions to which you don´t have any answer at all, and so the officer knows that you just didn´t skip the question you write non applicable... on your examples you do have an answer, so you dont need to write N/A. The N/A is for all blank answers... in your examples one answer is no and the other is yes... therefore they are not blank.

Hello,

If my answer to "Have you previously been married?" is no, do I write N/A on name of previous partner, date of birth of previous partner, type of relationship, from_to _, or just leave them blank?
