I am married to a Canadian but we met, married and have since lived in England.
We sent a spouse sponsorship application to Mississauga beginning of June. Does anyone know how long it normally takes to receive an acknowledgement from them?

AOR takes about 1 months to arrive and about 2 months to be processed.
In my case took 2 months AOR and approval.

you can check the cic website and see which files are they processing already. for the approval to sponsor portion, it takes around a month and once approved, the file gets transferred to london (i think) where the pr portion gets processed.
