I don?t think you need proof of founds since you?ve been sponsored.

I don´t think you need proof of funds for spousal sponcering. Here is some quote from Canadian Embassy in Japan. Hope this helps!

Question:
I live and work in Japan since many years, I do not have a T-4 as required, what should I do?

Answer:
Financial requirements do not apply when sponsoring a spouse or dependent children. You need to fill the Sponsorship Evaluation IMM5481, provide the information concerning your current employer if any; you do not need to provide T-4 or similar documents from Canada.

Question:
I am not working. Can I sponsor my spouse?

Answer:
Yes, you can. As stated above financial requirements do not apply when sponsoring a spouse and dependent children.
