Subject: Effect of Adding Spouse To PR processing
I currently(June)sent my medical, Landing Fee and Police Certificates to Buffalo. And in July I got married and informed Immigration of my change in marital status.

Anyone aware of what I may expect next in this regard? Should I expect longer delays in completing my application process due to addition of spouse?

What kind of documents may the Immigration ask for my spouse?

Thank you

I hope you have sent the following information to the embassy handling your case:

Cover letter requesting them to add your spouse to your existing application.

1) Updated second page of Application for Permanent Residence IMM 0008,
2) Updated Additional Family Information IMM 5406,
3) Your spouse´s Schedule 1 and IMM 5406
4) Your spouse´s birth certificates,
5) Marriage certificate,
6) Spouse´s education documents,
7) Photos
8) Application fee in the amount of CAD 550 for spouse
9) Copy of passport
10) Police clearance certificate

After this medical papers will be sent for your spouse. This may add a couple of months to your application but you have no choice.

Thank you Kenny.

I did inform them about my marital change and requested a list of documents I need to send via EMAIL. I am not sure if I should wait for Immigration to contact me first or should I go ahead and send the documents as soon as I have them ready. I did get a response to my email that said "Information will be recorded on my file".

Appreciate your help!

This link has the contact details for Buffalo Immigration Center. I am not 100% sure if the email was an actual response or an automated respose. I got to replies: one sayin it will be forwarded to buffalo and this one is surely an automated message. The second one actually had "Buffalo Processing Center" written at the end so I am assuming it is a true response!

If anyone else uses email response, please post a message about how efficient or inefficient the replies are.

Adding my wife to existing PNP PR (in reply to: Effect of Adding Spouse To PR processing)
Hello,
I ve applied for my PR on May 5, 2014. Got married on June 9nth in India. I send an email to CIO mentioning the info of marriage including marriage cert. I got a reply that "Your file has been forwarded to the appropriate party for review."

My PR application status is application received & medicals recieved.

While I called to CIC call centre their reply was to wait for whatever reply on email and do on requirement. When they will ask me to submit my wife´s application.

Please reply on this,

jen
