Sorry about insisting on this topic but i am really frustrated it seems as CIC stop working for the whole month of july, so far i haven´t heard of any Oct 04 applicant getting IA and this is getting to my nerve.
Advise me what to do should i contact CIC ? will they answer at all?
should i order CAIPS?. I am really disapointed as this PR process is taking way too long, I am going to get IA in 2006 or what? and then what one year or more just to get PP so around JAN 07 i will be landing, man I cannot even plan anything is really depressing.
Hope you guys are not in the same boat, I apreciate your comments

why do you think you should be getting your IA in July? did they send you a letter or something? No point in ordering CAIPS until you determine if they want an interview. There is almost half a year until 2006.
summer is a stupid busy time for all embassy staff. every foreign student and visitor visa is processed through the same place as your SW application. Student Visa´s take priorty and they are factored into the time lines given to PR applicants. Student visas are tied to school terms... you would expect them to be promptly attended to.
you are right, it is impossible to plan. It is a sad and frustrating reality for everyone. EVERYONE. if you cannot live with the uncertainty, you better quit now because you still have a long way to go.

my timeline:
oct. 04 applicant
feb. 05 AOR, nothing from CIC since then
IA should be late august/september where i expect to hear that i will have an interview which i´m guessing will take place in about april/may of next year.
i can´t help, usually i´m a pessimist...i´m expecting to land summer ´06 if at all..´til then i´m not doing anything at all but wait and prepare whatever documents they ask for.
to be honest, i´m having second thoughts about the whole thing..sometimes i think they can just keep their PR visa.

hi sharon i think i should be getting IA in july cause i saw most people get it around nine months from applicating.
I understand summer is a crazy time and students have priority but come on is 9 months that is long enough to at least know something.
I just wanna hear from some body getting their IA in july so i Know what to expect as i do not have all the time until 2007 or who knows when to wait. I need to plan my life and i am a little stuck, sorry if i sound frustrated.

I am not special , I am just speaking on behalf of all the people who applied and are waiting for IA.
I just think is taking too long and i would like to hear from some one who got IA this month and their time line just so we all can have an idea what to expect.

Hey Karajito..I totally understand ur frustration..I have exactly the same timeline as you..applied in last week of October 2004 and got AOR in second week of Feb 2005. No word yet from CIC...or no letters...Frankly I think people who applied during our time in October were the most delayed bcos we all got our AOR´s like 4 months later..in Feb 05 and now our IA also is late...but people who applied b4 us and after us have gotten their AOR´s in one month..for example...people who applied in Feb 05 have their AOR´s by Mar 05...so I think we applied at the wrong time..anyways..I have applied for CAIPS now for second time and waiting for it...also..I had first applied my CAIPS when I had no AOR from CIC for 4 months..so..when I get my CAIPS I will definitely let u all know if there is any progress on my application and if that might help someone get a clue on the timelines we are looking at...in the meanwhile..take it easy...things will work out...

Don´t worry about your application, we applied in April 2004, they started processing in June 2004 and we still haven´t heard anything. We applied from London, UK, and want to leave here by September 2006 but we haven´t heard anything about our medicals yet. I think it might take awhile.

Hi Karjito,
I applied in July 2004, and got AOR in Augast 2004.(SW, Buffalo) I haven´t heared anything from them!!(It has been a year!!!!) My AOR says that we´re currently assessing files received 60 weeks ago. That means, it takes at least 15 months for them to start working on my file. What does your AOR say?
You said that "most people get it around nine months from applicating.", but I think the people you saw are not even close to the total number of applicants. Although all of my friends who applied later than I did have already gotten their IAs. Just hang in there!!!

hi karajito,
One of my friend who received AOR in september 2004 from canada just received his IA 10 days back. So i presume that people with AOR in october must wait till the end of this month or next month to receive IA. Hope it helps.
