| Subject: need new FBI clearance? |

Hi,
I still am awaiting passport request. Applied may 04, received notification of interview waiver and medicals Dec. 04. Have taken medicals, Dec 04, paid RPRF Feb 05, and everything else. When i applied in buffalo back in may 04, I submitted FBI clearance for spouse and I, daed march 04. Now today, I haven´t heard anything. E-status still hasn´t showed medicals received. I have my CAIPS, which shows that medicals have been received, all passed (accodring to the codes). What is holding up my file, why haven´t I received anything? What should I do? What about FBI clearance I submitted when I applied? Too many questions, I know, but I´d appreciate any responses...
lastly, i will be moving in 2 weeks, can i change my address by faxing buffalo and sending a mail? I would love to change my address to a P.O. box. is this a problem? I live and work in the US.

What does your CAIPS notes say about your background and security checks? You will not get passport request till these checks are complete.
It can take anywhere from 3 months to well over a year to complete these checks. So all you can do is wait. Hopefully you will hear from them soon.

According to your story, I think they need FBI Clearence, The FBI only valid for 6 month. Why did you send your FBI clearence when you applied? you only give the doc what CIC asked. "more doc you submited, it´s more complicated you will be"

So are you saying I should re do the FBI clearance for myself and my wife and send to CIC? The CAIPS notes security section does not say anything about background checks completed. Please anyone advice...

it depend on IA, if IA said you require for FBI, you have to do it. otherwise no.

I have used a PO Box througout the process with no negative results.
