hello

when we submit the supporting documents for spouses, to show that our relationship is genuine and continuing, do we need to send the phone bills to be translated and certifide if it is in spanish, or is it only for documents.

thanks

I may be off base here, but...don´t you think that if you are married then that´s all that matters? I don´t think they care if you are commited or not or how you live your life. The fact that you are not divorced and the country you´re from does allow divorces if you want to (it does, right?), then.... for me that´s better proof than anything else. if you have things like joint account, or both names on ownership of something, same address (at least at some point), then I would put that in first place. then I would write a long explanation about why one had to migrate to another country or whatever your situation may be. just put yourself in the interviewers shoes: you want hard proof and not something that can be understood in many ways. see what you can come up with. phone bills are good, but make it hard to beat.

I went thru the sponsorship process with my husband. Me being a Canadian and living abroad with him him in Switzerland, we were not sure how to prove the point with a genuine marriage. We decided to send in photocopies of our telephone bills but they were not translated into English. The phone bills were in German and they showed to them how we kept in touch when we were not living in the same country in the beginning. They never said anything to me that they were not translated and I sent over 20 photocopies of bills . So I think just making photocopies of the bills with high-lighting the phone number, that would be enough for them.
