It looks like the waiting time after medicals till passport requests have increased ESPECIALLY for INCANADA applicants.

Are there ANY INCANADA APPLICANTS who got PASSPORT REQUEST within 6 MONTHS after MEDICALS?

YOGI TRACKER shows people with 3 months waiting time after medicals, it seems their mostly H1B workers in the US.

Thanks and all the best!

Hi,

I am also on the same boat - finished graduate studies in 2004, currently in the first year of my post grad employment work permit. I applied for work permit renewal until 2006 and as per their automated reply system, the renewal seemed to go through smoothly. My in campus job as a unix sysadmin became a permanent full time job. I hope
the immigration process is over before the renewed work permit expires in 2006. My first application was rejected in 2003, as i made only 68 points. The timeline is shown below -

Application - Apr 2004
Acknowledement - May 2004
Initial Assessment - Dec 2004
Additional docs (updated letter from employer, Certified copy of master´s) and RPRF - Dec 2004
Medicals - Jan 2005
Nothing after that

Though i am happy that this time my application
had more luck than it had last time, I hope this process is over sometime this year. I have been reading this website, immigration.ca and yogi.com for a while. Especially Yogi.com is depressing, as their timeline doesn´t match anyone i know. I know at least two grad students, both waited 11 months for initial assessment and 11 months after medical tests. I sent a fax to buffalo in 2003, asking for the status of my last application and also gave them the good news that i got a well paid and stable in-campus job with a copy of the job contract. Two weeks from then, my application was rejected. Now i feel that if i didn´t send that dreaded fax to buffalo in 2003 and waited patiently a couple more months, the required points would have got reduced from 75 to 67 and i would be a landed immigrant by now.

So this time i am reluctant to send a fax or use the caips. However i stapled the rprf fee to the requested documents and managed to get a photocopy of the money order
that got cashed in buffalo from the bank. They wrote my file number behind the money order. So at least i hope they received all the documents. The doctor´s office confirmed that they sent the medical results to ottawa on mid january itself.

I don´t want to think of a third application, so i guess i would rather wait this time than irritate people in
buffalo. From my own experience, getting the first job in canada is the tough part, Canadian degree certainly helps.
But after that it is just a matter of how good you are on what you do and how dedicated you are on what you do that keeps the present job or helps find your next employer. It is certainly not half as hard as finding the first job. If i get the permanent residence this time, it would be smooth sailing for me job wise and i am sure it is the same for most applicants in canada on work/study permits. If i didn´t get it this time either, probably I could write a book - my decade of applications and things you shouldn´t do!! Technically this is my third application, the first one was in 2001. I paid the application fee in the wrong format (used the pink slip for applications to vegreville) and it was returned without processing after 4 months. So that doesn´t count :-) :-)

Skilled workers (2 family members - both graduate students):
AOR - Nov 2003
Additional documents requested - Aug 2004
Medical examination and ROLF - Sept 2004
Nothing since.
CAIPS note says: Medical status code A (MO1), but at the same time, medical decision: 0
Waiting........
It´s indeed the slow summer.

I hear everyone, the waiting is very sad. I also observed that applicants with spouses etc are taking longer to process. At the same time a know a handfull of independent single applicants in canada as students or workers geeting passport request 6 months after medical.

I think 6 months after medicals is the best that can happen to you.

Anyone else know of timelines of friends at school or work who got it in less or more time?
And i too strongly agree that yogi is depressing!

It is a very serious topic. Being a student in Canada, I always thought that my application would be processed faster than the applicants from Outside-Canada. Now I have finished my thesis, (Master´s thesis) and defended, with a hope that I will get immigration in another 3 months. If I had seen all these comments, I would have rather stayed as a student, now I have finished my thesis, and the 3 month limited stay after finishing the studies has started and I am in dire straits. Believe me, dire straits. I went to my grad secretary to cancel my graduationa application, she is telling, as we are on study permit, we won´t be allowed once we have completed our degree. Now I have to think about joining another degree (or somehow join something) so that I stay in Canada as a student. Atleast for a hope , is there anybody whose PP request came within 2 months after immigration?

Hi Boss,

no news on my side. Medicals sent to Ottawa in May and the rest of required docs in June. No change in the online status. Will check tomorrow again.

hi max,
good day man. even change in online status doesn´t mean anything. My e-client changed to medicals received around 3 weeks back (july4, 2005)and havent heard anything from CIC till now.
I think for in-canada applicants, its all screwed up.
Boss.

Hi Boss,

I am not raising my hopes. Summer seems to be the dead season there and so far Buffalo bailed on every timeline they give.

Thanks for the info, though. I just hope all my docs make there and are properly accounted for.
