I did, but I don´t think it mattered. I briefly wrote that the prints were for an application for permenent residency in Canada. They just returned it with a stamp reading "No arrest record"

If you want to get your prints back quickly, you must include a cover letter stating your "deadline" date. If you don´t really have one, give one 3 weeks out or so, and they will do their best to get it to you by then. Customer Service at the FBI is awesome. Don´t forget to write your deadline on the outside of your envelope, too, so that after it passes through security, it can be placed in the "expedite" pile. Otherwise, you´re looking at a 8-10 week wait. It is also a good idea to write in your letter that the fingerprints are for CANADIAN immigration; they work closely together. Good luck!

Also, be sure to put the deadline on the outside of the envelope as well as the cover letter. Further, use a mailing service with a tracking number. The FBI uses that tracking number to retrieve your letter if it gets lost. Without it, they have no way of tracking.

Good luck.

Hi everybody...

for those that have already received their FBI record, I have a question regarding the stamp...

We are about to request the FBI records. We have fingerprints on Canadian forms, but called the FBI to confirm if these forms are ok. They said no problem (the fingerprinting is really the same).... so the question is, does the "No arrest record" stamp have some indication that it is stamped by the FBI?? I would certainly believe so, but I want to make sure that the CIC will be convinced that it is an FBI stamp even in the canadian form.

thanks in advance
JC
