Hi,
From this forum i came to know that CHC ND is asking passport in advance before the visa is ready. why they are doing this.
Because PP is a very important document and we need this for any travel outside INDIA if the CIC keeps PP like this that is not fare....they can ask the PP when the visa is ready......instead of keeping every on FIRE.....
I had submitted the PP by 22nd June still waiting to get back.........SW applicant

yes, they keep it with themselves and do the background checks. they kept mine for over 6months, i got it back 2weeks ago after gettin visa . cheers

The BG check will be done before the PP request right....

Different category applications have different procedures.... as you have applied as a sw applicant it will take near about 5-6 months before you recieve your passport....
Why dont you just run through some of the sw applicant time lines in this forum and you will get the answer...
Dont compare your applications with spouse visa applicants.... so just hang in and wait there is nothig wrong
