may I suggest you are dreaming if you think you are going to have any real contact or influence with your (or any other) immigration officer. Do you have any idea how many applications they look at every day and what would happen if everyone decide they wanted to talk to ´their officer´.
Let CIC do their job. As for CAIPS... why not wait until you are asked for an interview or they have long exceeded their processing projections.

Sharon. I do not think people want to contact the officer directly. Desperately, they are trying to squeeze any extra bit of information regarding the question of their strong concern; officer information may be used for timeline comparsion, for example. This must be respected.
The reason why people do not wait till they are asked is simple: most probably they are not in a situation when waiting is easy for them. In recognition of that possibility, CIC created CAIPS in the first place.
