Yes, yesterday the long awaited letter came after a long period of anxiety. I couldn´t even "celebrate" the occasion. I guess I was overstressed. Interestingly, a deadline was not set for submission of the passports but rather I was asked to submit them at the earliest possible time and failure to do so could result in delays in processing. Is this normal?

Currently, I am on an assignment thousands of miles from my family/home and will need to get their passports too- family of five. I plan to do so in two weeks time i.e., around August 16th, 2005. Will this be a good decision? Suggestions and advice are welcomed.
My timeline is:

Applied: March 19, 2002
AOR: November 11, 2002
Interview: Waived
First Medicals: September 30, 2003
Security/Police clearance: November 23, 2003
Additional documentation: - December 15,2003
Additional documentation: - August 4, 2004
Second medicals: Submitted to Ottawa - March 31, 2005
: - Reflected on e-client (At CIC Buffalo): Around mid- July 2005
Passport Request letter sent by Immigration Consultant: July 26, 2005
Passport request letter delivered to my address: July 29, 2005.

The application was submitted to the Buffalo office through an Immigration Consultant.

Congratulations! it´s really great!

BTW, what kind of additional documents they requested
(in Dec 2003 and Aug 2004)? Any idea why it took so long between the medicals? I would really appreciate any info you can give, because we are waiting since Nov 2003,
and our medicas expire on Sept 10th, 2005. I lost the hope to get PP before that very date and getting ready for the second exanination. It was mentioned earlier on this forum that some people got request to have the second med. right after the first was expired, but some had to wait for very long period of time. Did you get the request very late or just had to wait to do it for some reason?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Dennis...my suggestion only...of you think it will take you a long time to do the passport stamping, I suggest you inform your layer and have them inform the buffalo about the situation....goodluck

In December 2003, CIC requested for documents related to the custody of my first son and my divorce certificate, which was not actually necessary since I was widowed. My consultant did not request this information during the application stage and therefore I did not provide it.

Since I lived in more than five countries over the past 10 years, CIC requested us to provide them with accurate and detailed information on our movement/residence over this period.

Although, I am not an authority in this field, I think the relatively longer period in my/our case is most likely due to the following reasons:

1. Large family size (5) ? Since they have to evaluate each person?s particulars.
2. Our residence in many countries over the past ten years ? some of these countries are looked upon with suspicion.
3. Our nationality since I did not apply as a North American resident
4. The additional documents required ? each request dragged the process back by at least two months.

My first medicals expired in November 2004. I was not asked to go for a second one until March 2005. In fact I got the request six days to the deadline and from DHL tracking system, I only beat the set deadline by 2 hrs 21 minutes.

Mr. ?#####?, I left USA some ten years ago after my graduate studies and only come on business tours.

Thanks Joe25 for your suggestion. Well noted. I really really like your ?name?.
