Subject: Canadian resident matching ?
  Hi,
My wife is coming in few months I want to know what procedure we follow to get the Canadian resident matching I know there is a huge queue of foreign doctors.
what information I gathered please confirm is it correct
1. first to take Medical Council of Canada exam,
2. Written and spoken test of english
What is the total fees of these exams and duration. and is there any other test required before applying to residency

or is there any other testing system like USMLE or PLAP please let me know I am lookingfor your suggestions , and help.

In canada the licencing process differ from province to province. There is also the CRMP(canadian resident matching program)which offers quite a few residency positions other than the provincial licencing bodies, however, all need first the medical council of Canada Evaluating and Qualifing exam1,Test of spoken english and TOEFL.This will cost you around 2000CD and you can complete it with in one year if you are determined. The problem is some provinces require you to live at least 12 months in the province and of course you must be either a citizen or a landed immigrant to be elligible.About the exams see www.mcc.ca and www.usmle.org
