Subject: Desperately Need Some Advice
  Hi

I moved to Canada from the UK to study, along with my Canadian fiance who was about to sponsor me. In january we sent off all the necessary documentation and in July I received confirmation that I could apply for an open work permit, and to obtain Police Certificates from the UK to obtain PR status.

However, to cut a long story short... during the time of processing approx 6 months I met someone else and began a relationship with them behind my fiances back (something that I am not proud of, but happened never the less). We are basically completely in love and want to get married.

Unfortunately my fiance found out about the relationship and told me to leave and I am therefore living with this other person. According to the CIC.gc.ca website, my application for PR etc is still being processed, but I am sure that my (now) ex-fiance will cancel the application to sponsor me.

I basically have just under a year to stay in canada based on my study permit (expires 30 June 2006) and really need some advice from some one about what I can do to stay here indefinately.

My new partner has said that she will do anything to help me stay here as we do not want to be seperated. Will I be able to re-apply for sponsorship along with her? If we get married, will we be seperated?

Please, please, if someone could give me some advice about any of this I would be greatly appreciative. There must be others who hav similar experiences out there.

Many thanks

Thank You (in reply to: Desperately Need Some Advice)
Thank you to the gutless person who wrote the message below. I thought that this forum was set up to help and advise people who needed help and advice. You have obviously never ever fallen in love with anyone, or know what it is like to fall in love with someone.

I wish you all the very best and trust that somehow in the future you will learn to not be the judge of others, especially when you do not know the complete story.

Many thanks for your most kind and helpful response.

Peace

What´s being in love got to do with being an upstanding and respectful person? Sounds like a bad excuse and you deserve to have her cancel your immigration and you SHOULD do it on your own.

Can your new-found fiancee move with you to the UK?? Might not be a bad idea. Sorry if this is not going to be an useful suggestion.

If ex-fiancee signed the undertaking , and CIC is currently processing your application for PR , your application might be refused and you may stay in Canada until the say that your work permit expires.

At this point it doesn?t look pretty good though , you are gonna have to prove that your relationship is genuine and there is no intention to use it only for Immigration reasons.

CIC might ask you to apply from abroad (cancelling your permit to remain in Canada) or summit several proves that your relationship is genuine and it was only a "fall in love" reason.

Do simple things, simple but serious. Marry the girl you say you are madly in love. Dis-regard what the other lady would or would not do. And start a new sponsorship afresh. It might help to have a legal representative since you WILL have to withdraw the other application as you submit the new one. CIC may nag you to provide stronger evidence for your current relationship but you should be fine and be able to stay here and work to supposrt yourself.
