  Hi All,

I got mail from buffalo that my application has been rejected as my total score comes to 62 and the reason they gave is English Language.A couple of months back i gave IELTS exam and got 6.5 overall and that is the result i sent them.

I know with this my file has come to end, but however is there anyway if i give the IELTS exam again and try to score good points can i request CIC to consider.

Thanks,

Bill I am sorry for that. first when did you apply and did you get AOR and file number?? when did you receive this letter?. According to you : 62 point was awarded; did they give you the break down of this score. You still need 5 more points. If they gave you 10 in English Lang. you still have a change to get 6 more point if you retake the IELTS. My advise to you is to RETAKE the IELTS then contact CIC for reconsidering.
Good Luck

Ali: they got my IELTS score after which they said they will get back to me after a month and they sent me a mail which said my app is rejected due to insufficient score.

Anonymous: I applied in July2004 Buffalo i don?t have the break of score. However do you think if i take IELTS exam they will reconsider the same?

I want to know if such kind of case has ever happened.

Thanks,
Bill

How much did you score in each section of IELTS? You can determine how much you got for English proficiency (out of 16) and if you can improve your score by 5 points.

First thing you should do is appear in IELTS again and try to score at least 7 in each section.

You should consult a professional regarding your case and take his/her advice.

Bill as Kenny told you: You must first how much you got from 16 and then see. In you case I advise that you muct retake the IELTS and score 17 in each section. How many months after AOR they send you this rejection letter?!.
Please be more clear in your timeline..
Best of Luck

Hi, recently I have received a letter from CIC regarding IELTS, these people are bit crazy. They do not have common sense. I have master´s degree from US University and living here since 1994. I have been using English 12 to 16 hours a day since 1995 (work, school.) and guess you have to have good writing skill to complete master´s degree. It doesn´t make me any sense of IELTS requirements for people like me. I guess British English, Canadian, English, American English, Australian English, Mexican English, Indian English, African English, Russian English... they are all different. I don´t give a damn if I get rejected because I know who am I. And I am bushed with these one-way type people those who do not use common sense. You know what the funny thing is, a friend of mine who currently living in Canada, barely speak English and didn´t have degree from English speaking nation, but he got the PR. They didn´t ask him IELTS.

Bill, I hope you will accept my post in the spirit it is offered.

I do not know your current situation so I cannot comment on the motivations for wanting to come to Canada. I am sure you have read posts of those who have been disappointed by what the encountered upon arrival in Canada.

One of the biggest sources of disappointment is ´underemployment´. By your post it looks like you have good education. Where things are more difficult is language.

May I suggest you are begging for heartache to attempt immigration with such poor language scores. Gaining meaningful Canadian employment requires command of english/french. without it... you are going to be stuck working in menial labour jobs. I am not sure that is your Canadian dream.

The CIC point system is designed to help everyone determine an applicants chances of success in resettlement in a new country. You have half the equation-education/age, but not the other half - language and support system (family). You should look at those scores as carefully as CIC to consider the implications for your future.

I would do one of two things... work very hard to get those english skills to a level where you will become successfully ´employable´ or reconsider your immigration plans.

I do not want to see another disappointed new Canadian.

to 93.240...
CIC makes it very clear... you can let CIC ´guess´ at your english proficiency or you can prove it and accept every point you are entitled to.

a US university education does not guarantee anything in terms of language proficiency. Your friend is likely one of the reasons the rules have changed!

Don´t be annoyed. CIC is doing their job.
