So the good news guys. My friend, an in-canada applicant who applied from buffalo with his family got his passport request today after 10 and half months after the medicals. He did his medicals sometimes in mid of september 2004.
This gives hope that our process hopefully should be over in less than 11 months for the guys in canada.Lets see how it goes.

tell us more about your friend; whats circumstances, dates, caips etc etc.
11 months seems long BOSS, but it makes sense since I have BFD date set at Feb 2006, exactly 11 months after my medicals.

it gives us some hope,
because our medicals expire 10.09.2005,
and BFD is 13.09.2005. We got CAIPS yesterday, nothing changed comparing with previous one (June).
One more month of waiting, and we´ll see. I´ll keep you posted on the updates of our case, might be useful experience. And thank you all very much for your information.
But don´t worry, BFD changes quite often.
And processing time for each case is very different. Our situation (11 months after the medicals and still nothing) and the case of BOSS´s friend are rather exceptions.
For people I know (4 cases) and who got their PR recently, it took ~8 months after the medicals (at least no longer than 9-10, spoken by the immigration lawyer).
I really think that after summer everything will become better.

11 months may seem unusual but in my case I did my medicals on Sept, 01, 2004 and still did not receive my PP requests yet.

Yeah it´s all sometimes ones luck that these security and background checks gets completed really faster for some people and slow for some others.
I haven´t asked whether my friends e-client changed or not.My e-client changed before a month or so and nothing happened. So it does not matter.
He also did not apply for CAIPS. He was just cool carrying on his work and life. And by the way he was on work permit in canada for 4 years before he applied for PR and he holds a Ph.D degree also. So overall the process took him 18 months till passport request. Hope it helps.

i am also waiting for my pp request. now it is more than 9 months after medicals. i hope i will receive pp request soon. let us pray and god will turn the situation around.

I cant believe it takes THAT long to get PP request after medicals for in-canada applicants. Thats insane! I guess I have a hell of a long wait ahead of me then.

I have arranged employment as well and I am just taking courses at school while waiting for my papers to come through. Im wasting a hell of a lot of time and money.

well its good to hear that Im not the only one waiting for more than 11 month after my medical. The bad news is my medical will expire 20 days from now. I guess I, Hell, and Anonymous are in critical condition. I keep my finger croosed for all who have waited so long. Good luck to every one.

AOR Nov. 2003, and at that point CIC was processing the files which were sent 14 month before. But we got request for medicals and additional docs. on Sept. 2004 (much faster than was expected, actually).
Let´s hope for the best, in fall things will change, everything will go faster and we´ll not need to do the second medicals. I remember, somebody said in this forum, that PP came a month (or so) after medical expires and he/she was not requested to get another examination.
