Canada does not have "states"; it has provinces. Please do your research on the country you intend to move to; it is as diverse as it is large. I´m not being cheeky here, but really! Do you know anything about the country you are asking to take you in?

Don´t take wannabe too seriously. Likely British Colombia has the best weather--but I am sure residents of other provinces will differ with me.

Also, the economy is healthy in BC, although housing costs may be high.

Good luck.

Hey I didn´t intend to sound mean; not at all. It´s just that I think that if we are going to move to another country, we owe it to ourselves to our research. Where are the best jobs? Who knows--what do you do? Where´s the best weather? What do you like? Anon, and lots of others will agree, say BC; I say: warm winters? No Way! I get depressed if it doesn´t snow by Thanksgiving (US Thanksgiving, anyway). Do you like the city or the country? Lots of folks love Vancouver or Toronto; I say: great to visit, but please don´t make me live there. Look, Some One, I´m totally not trying to be rude, and I aplogize if it sounds that way. But Canada is huge, and it is likely the most diverse country in the world. That means there are lots of options, lots to consider, and lots of research to be done. No one here can tell you what you´ll like; we´d each give different answers to your questions, just as we each give different lists of what our favorite things Canadian are. I just hope for you that you can find your answers, because we are each embarking on a major life change and I´m hoping us all the best.

I agree with WANNABECANADIAN....you must look into the country you are moving to first. I dont think his/her post was mean.
AND if you ask about jobs, you have to specify what your field is. Different jobs are available in different regions.
Canada is the best country in the world and it is the second largest......we have diversity from coast to coast to coast.
Good luck to all. Be calm, stay cool and all will be OK!

CHEERS!

I agree with Rachunek. And Wannabecanadian, and many, there is a high possibility that "some one" does not speak/ write in fluent English, and was translating from theirs to this one and got "state" not "Province" When I translate from English to French, I make this type of mistake often, but usually with verbs.

Out of curiousity, what is the significant difference between a "state" and a "province" other than in Canada they are provinces (and territories) and USA is states (and District of Columbia, territories, etc.)?
