Hi
I am a student in Canada on a study permit. Recently i have applied for Immigration and got my file number last week. However, yesterday i got a letter from Immigration office advising me to give IELTS exam to prove my english proficiency.
I would like to know whether a letter from my research supervisor would help to waive IELTS exam. Also, i would like to know whether the Immigration people entertain emails/faxes from Professors.
Thanks in advance.

(in reply to: IELTS Suggestions) It would be very unlikely they will accept your college letter, still you could try it, but do not keep too much hope though, meanwhile you could go for IELTS( Prep+ Test), instead of wasting your time.
Good Luck!
