Subject: marrying a filipino by a permanent resident
Iam Permanent resident of canada ( citzenship indian). Iam planning to marry a filipino in philippines. Which consulate should i apply for a affidavit for legal capacity to marry. How do i go about with this what all documetns do i need. Which country do i apply.

you can do it all from there ,,and the wait time is not near as long from there .If you go to the canadian embassy in manilla or Cebu ,you can walk in and wait about 15 minutes to an hour ,,and they can get you your capacity to marry on the spot . If you do it from here I think you have to get something signed by a lawyer stating you have never been married ,then send it ,along with your birth certificate or citizenship, to them ..then you wait about a month to get it ...I would say just do a walk in while you are there ,,you can get it on the spot .
